Laura Barger - Piano
New York-based pianist Laura Barger is increasingly sought-after for her dedication to contemporary music, as well as for her energetic and committed performances. She has performed internationally both as a soloist and chamber musician at The Lucerne Festival (Switzerland), The National Gallery of Ireland, Västerås Konserthus (Sweden), Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (San Francisco), Darmstadt Festival for New Music (Germany), Bang on a Can Marathon at Mass MOCA and The Banff Centre for the Arts (Canada). Active in New York's new music scene, she can be heard performing everywhere from John Zorn's downtown experimental mecca The Stone to the Kaufmann Center's Merkin Hall. In addition to Yarn/Wire, Laura performs frequently with contemporary music groups such as the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, Argento Chamber Ensemble, skogensemble, Wet Ink Ensemble and Lost Dog New Music.
Laura has premiered numerous works by composers from around the world, and has been fortunate to work directly with composers such as Philippe Leroux, Augusta Read-Thomas, Yan Maresz, Dai Fujikura, Alexandra Dubois, David Lang, Michael Gordon, and Terry Riley. Laura also holds degrees from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville (BM, summa cum laude) and Stony Brook University (MM, DMA). She is currently on faculty at the 92nd Street Y School of Music in Manhattan. |

Jacob Rhodebeck - Piano
Jacob Rhodebeck is a pianist known for his facile technique and his enthusiasm for performing new and unknown music. He has received degrees from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music (BM), and SUNY Stony Brook (MM, DMA) where he studied with Elizabeth Pridonoff and Gilbert Kalish respectively. Jacob has been highly active in the world of new music, having collaborated with and premiered works by Mason Bates, Shinuh Lee, Christopher Bailey, Lukas Ligeti, and many others. Jacob has performed in many masterclasses with artists such as: Garrick Ohlsson, Ursula Oppens, Frederic Rzewski, and Emanuel Ax. He was a Fellow at the Tanglewood Summer Music Festival in 2007 and 2008. Jacob completed his DMA at Stony Brook in 2009 and is the Music Minister at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Smithtown, NY. He joined Yarn/Wire in November 2008. |

Ian Antonio - Percussion
Ian is a member of Yarn/Wire, Zs, the Wet Ink Ensemble, Hunter-Gatherer, and the Theatre of a Two-Headed Calf. He also frequently performs with the International Contemporary Ensemble, the Argento Ensemble, and the S.E.M. Ensemble. Ian holds a B.M from the Manhattan School of Music and and an M.M. and D.M.A. from SUNY Stony Brook. He has been a Tanglewood Music Center fellow (2002 and 2003), a Yellow Barn Chamber Music Festival participant (2009), coordinating manager of the Stony Brook University Contemporary Chamber Players, a member of the Mettawee River Company, and a teaching artist at I.S. 291 in Bushwick, Brookyn. Ian has worked closely with many leading composers and conductors including Helmut Lachenmann, John Adams, Osvaldo Golijov, and Kaija Saariaho and recorded for the Social Registry, Tzadik, Warp, Carrier, Three One G, and Planaria record labels. |

Russell Greenberg - Percussion
Russell Greenberg is an avid proponent of new music in its various forms, ranging from electronic media to improvisational structures and rock music. Currently based in Brooklyn, NY, he is the co-founder of the new music percussion and piano quartet, Yarn/Wire, and has worked with a number of groups including the International Contemporary Ensemble, San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, and the experimental theater troupe, Two-Headed Calf, among others.
Russell received degrees from SUNY Stony Brook (MM, DMA) and the University of California at Berkeley (BA), where he studied with Eduardo Leandro and William Winant, respectively.Outside of the university, he has attended national and international festivals including the Aspen Music Festival (US), Darmstadt summer courses (Germany), Acanthes (France/Finland), Klangspuren (Schwaz, Austria), and the Lucerne Festival. He has recently performed at the SPARK festival of Electronic Music and Art (Minneapolis), and was a featured artist at the Festival of New American Music in Sacramento, California. |
